Dear Fashion Enthusiasts,

I'm writing this with a heavy heart and a determination to spare you the ordeal I recently faced with one of the Flyrobe franchise at Rajauri Garden, New Delhi, a brand that promises the allure of designer wear through their lehenga rental service. What was supposed to be an exciting experience turned into a nightmare of hidden charges, unmet promises, and a sense of being taken advantage of. It's my hope that by sharing my story, I can prevent others from falling into the same trap and should know all the prerequisites before booking the lehange at any store.

The Promise of Flyrobe

Like many others, I was drawn to Flyrobe by the convenience and elegance they advertised. Flyrobe offers plenty of lehengas with versatile range of designs.  The idea of donning a designer lehenga for a special occasion without the hefty price tag seemed too good to be true. After browsing and shortlisting of my fav golden color lehenga through their online catalog and then I visited their store next day at Rajauri Garden in New Delhi. I settled on a stunning piece that I shorlisted online and tried the same golden lehange in store for an upcoming wedding. Staff was helpful and supportive while I was trying lehange. The lehenga was perfect fit and minor fitting was required in blouse.

Sale women informed that fitting will be done in couple of days then I can come to collect the lehenga on 24th night as I had to leave for wedding on my hometown early morning on next day and returned to 29th morning. While booking, she mentioned the dates of rental as 24th - 29th Feb as she showed on her desktop monitor. Then my husband asked her to please give the print of this details to avoid any later confusion, but she refused first and then said that if you take a print of it you need to submit the print at the time of lehenga return else there will be additional charges or even security money can be forfeited. As I have 2 children so did not take print as any of my kid can tear that.

Lehange was beautiful and was looking stunning from everywhere. The process seemed straightforward—I selected my lehenga, chose my rental dates, gave the fitting for minor alter and made the booking payment of 5600 INR. as half of rental deposit on 17th Feb. All set, or so I thought.

The Unforeseen Obstacle

I was very happy that finally I booked a lehenga of my choice  and the excitement of wearing the chosen lehenga grew, but this was not for long. Day not even passed, and while returning back from the store I got a call after an hour and store girl said that the lehenga that I booked is already booked by someone and he will return on 25th. So she asked me to collect the lehenga on 25th Feb rather than 24th that was agreed in the store. I got into a shock and could not reply her and told her the I will call once I reach home.

The Shocking Revelation

After returning home in next 1 hour I called Flyrobe back and informed them that how can it be possible if I have booked that already and you sent email receipt of same lehenga. Here's where things took a turn for the worse. Flyrobe statement got changed and she said that there was stiching and other problems in to lehenga to they need to repair that and offered me to select different lehenga. They asked me to come again and select different lehanga as my booked lehenga is not available.

Next morning I visited Flyrobe again and I could not find my booked Lehenga in store. They offered me alternatives and most of them were very expensive, none of which matched the charm of the original lehenga I had set my heart on. Reluctantly, I decided to cancel my order, expecting a full refund.  However, the reality was far from what I anticipated.

Upon asking my refund, I was informed that no refund is allowed because they dont have any "cancellation Policy." Confused and frustrated, I contacted their lady manager, only to be met with vague responses and extremely rude behaviour. It seemed that despite Flyrobe's failure to provide the lehenga I had booked, I was being penalised for their shortcomings. I was furious and had to argue on their charges like this and finally they agreed to refund cash 4000 and deducted 1600Rs.

Later I realized that Flyrobe earned 1600Rs. from me that too when I fought hard for refund. But not everyone keen to fight for rights and whole of my deposit would have gone in vain until I select any other lehenga whether I like or not.

The Deceptive Practice

Further digging into reviews and forums revealed that I was not alone in this experience. Many customers had faced similar issues, with Flyrobe deducting hefty amounts under the guise of cancellation charges, even when it was the company's fault for not fulfilling the order.

A Call to Action

So, here I am, urging you to exercise caution when dealing with lehenga rental services, especially Flyrobe. While the allure of designer wear at affordable prices is enticing, the hidden costs and deceptive practices are not worth the risk.

Before you hit that "Book Now" button, consider the following:

Research Thoroughly: Look beyond the glossy advertisements. Check customer reviews on multiple platforms to get a comprehensive picture.

Clarify Policies: Don't hesitate to ask questions about cancellation policies, refund procedures, and any hidden charges.

Document Everything: Keep records of your conversations with customer service, store executives, emails, and receipts. These may come in handy if you find yourself in a dispute.

Consider Alternatives: There are reputable lehenga rental services and boutique stores that offer transparent policies and excellent customer service. Explore your options before making a decision.

Remember, your special occasion should be about joy and celebration, not about navigating through murky refund policies and unexpected charges. Let's raise awareness about these practices to protect fellow fashion enthusiasts from falling into the trap of lehenga rental scams.
